W4rkry - I don't have you on my list. That makes six and we will see what we can do. It is going to be tight because I don't have a lot of flat space in my back yard.
Attention all campers - we won't have a hurricane this year, but we did have a lot of rain last night and more is supposed to come in today. The weekend is supposed to be clear. But, the yard will be pretty wet, so you really need a ground cloth under your tent. Bring one if you have it.
We have always figured out how to accommodate everyone, so we will do it again this year.
Skeeter's Keeper - your space is reserved. Bring a pillow and a blanket, air mattress if you have one. I take it that means you will have that car running by tomorrow!1992 Green GL - "It's not easy being green" - Kermit - RIP killed by a tree

For anyone not following all the posting going on at Madness and FordFestiva facebook pages, we broke our record for cars, new total is 75. We had 5 Aspires and 70 Festivas. Fan Favorite went to Britstiva for his Aspire. Best Beater to Will Samet. He also took the Bad Luck Award for hitting a pothole and almost tearing his rear end out from under the car and breaking the fuel line. He had to spend a couple of hours getting things fixed so he could get the rest of the way to the meet. Bebandit, Jerry Lee took High Mileage at 382k miles and Muleskinner, Mike took Lowest Mileage at 81K. JohnMT had the Earliest Build Date of 9/87. And in case you couldn't guess ThisVelologist, Ben Rogers, got the farthest traveled at 8,396. His epic around the country trip to get here, was an awesome adventure.1992 Green GL - "It's not easy being green" - Kermit - RIP killed by a tree

I made it home in the early morning Monday, a little less that 13 hours. No excitement but I didn't push it, a combination of tired and the noisy rear bearings which worried me but didn't come to anything. I think I was in NC too long, I'm FREEZING in MI. I always plan two days for the trip back but I just can't seem to spring for a motel when I get that close. Thanks for all the work of putting on a great event once again! Had a great time. John

My wife (Warchild) wrote a few words on FB I thought I would share here.
Every year after madness I sit down and write my feelings on it. It's always long and emotional but I feel it needs to be done so here we go.
Ten years ago Dean Allan and Barbara Allan and a few friends decided to start gathering a group of people together each year to talk about these crazy little cars. It's been ten now and it continues to grow. We broke a madness record this year even if we did have to search a little for the appearance of the last few.
Dean passed some time ago and the world lost an immovable force. It was a loss that shook many in the community because he had become their rock their friend their family their rescue net. That next year madness turned out in full force to show love and respect for Dean's memory. And strength to let barb know that she was not alone in moving through life. That's what this community does it lifts you when life has kicked you down.
I got involved in madness at madness six. I fell in love with this amazing community. They have become my friends my family the ones that are my rock when the world tears me apart. We went into madness this year knowing it had to have something more than any other year because it was the tenth one. We knew it had to be big and bold we had no clue what we were asking for.
Madness 10 we had a wedding. A car giveaway. A pull apart car at madness central and almost a hundred pounds of grilled meat. We had pictures going at madness central central on a screen of all madness before . My husband officiated his first wedding. People came together and under the surface and in whispers around the entire meet you heard Dean would have loved this. Dean would have been so proud of this. That's where my pride in my involvement cones in because I get to take part in a yearly event that is so full of amazing people and great food and fun cars and more than anything it allows us to show that his was not a life in vain it brought people together it was in a word amazing.
There is a visible next generation festy lovers growing and it is inspiring. I never met Dean I never got the chance and I have been told it might be a good thing because I would most assuredly found myself caught up in shenanigans and hilarious antics with him.
I do want to point out that the amount of people that pitched in this year was astounding. Highnmighty Scott my friend my roommate and quite possibly the man that saved me this weekend came over and worked tirelessly helping me out food. John thanks you rocked that potato bar.
Cody Silvers and Summer Bowling you two have just managed to steal such a piece of my heart that I could never let y'all go back into the world and never ever see y'all again.
Jeremy R. Ward and Jennifer y'all rocked with the extra supplies and the mad amounts of help that you pushed through.
Caety Porter I don't think you have any clue how much I so admire and adore you. Madness was almost flawless this year and that is in great part thanks to you and your tireless efforts. Your help with that wedding will never be forgotten
Jeremy Mullins I love you so much we rocked much madness ass this year and the idea that you would ever step away from the cars and the community would destroy me because you a piece of me. You are amazing and you not only worked to turn out an amazing madness but you threw down with the others on the end clean up. I was trying but lack of sleep and massive food and wedding prep wiped me out. You earned that kidney.
Charlie Whitney you produced the most amazing awards for the event but you know what that wasn't your most amazing contribution. Your presence made it all worthwhile getting to talk to you for a few brief moments is sunshine to so many oh and by the way I absolutely love her.
Danielle Stone you as always jumped in and did more than anybody could ask and helped make it all happen. You turned out some amazing photos and helped behind the scenes to make it all flow.
Autumn Michele Winters I feel like I don't have enough letters or words on this page to tell you how very proud I was of you all weekend long. You rocked the table. You rocked the cotton candy. You rocked the clean up. You my little love and my little horocrux simply rock and I could never be more proud of anyone more than I am of you daily.
Corey Ray you did an amazing amount of work that not many saw because you were completely behind the scenes but you helped pull it off. I love you so much and you have answered the call Everytime this family needs you.
Ben G. Rogers what can I possibly say to thank you for what you do for this group. The photos with your pet drone were amazing. Your end of madness picture was inspired and you are not the man I think you are if you don't have another planned for madness eleven. It wasn't the drone work though it was the fact that every single time I felt like this weekend was about to beat beat me you walked up and hugged me or I would look up and see you smiling and would be reminded of why we do this. You truly are the kind of medicine that cannot be packaged.
Paul Short my husband you rocked those vows and you are just amazing tirelessly working I n these little cars all weekend long. I love you so much.
Barb you open up your home this crazy group of people and you throw yourself into the middle of this madness and you are so amazing and I love you so much that when it creeps into my mind that we could just take madness slow and steady you make me want to push to make it better and better. How do you make something so good better I have no clue but I k ow that you make me want to figure it out.
Corinne Hawkins that k you so much for my cup and without your special Java juice I might surely have died this weekend you are amazing
Thank you to all of you for helping make this a perfect weekend for me.
We saw the joining of Sarah Foster and Dennis Foster it left me in tears most of the day. I can't think of two people more suited for a festy wedding. Good luck and love you two.
Now for what people didn't see and there is so much more than just a few things but with an event this size there are always the things nobody sees. Dean's little grandson wheeling and dealing for something he really he wanted. Brad Hazard around the corner of the building giving us the music we needed for the wedding. Parker Mitchell out there scoping for a new car. The amount of smiles that happened when somebody announced Paul Mayswas making an appearance. You my friend lift people up simply by your presence. John Jacks who has asked that his contribution not be pointed out I will just simply say thank you and it couldn't have been done without you.
There are so many that will not be mentioned it doesn't mean that I'm not great fun or didn't see the contribution of your time or your presence but more than anything I'm still tired and dumb.
I n the end it was an amazing madness and I love all of you very much for allowing me to be part of it.Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

Even though we weren't able to be there this year I want to say thank you to all who make the Madness possible. Loved seeing the live feeds on Facebook, all the photos and updates as they appeared. We were a part of the previous record breaking crew at FM5 and had a great time. We will be doing our best to make it to FMXI. Hoping some of you will be able and willing to make the trip up this way to Westiva 2017. Date is set at July 15th... watch for details soon in the Meets & Events section.
Oh, and keep those Madness photos coming.....Ian

For those without Facebook access/accounts, here's the link to the photos I shot at Madness 10.
It includes most of the photos I shot from previous madness meets. All are in separate directories.
The wedding photos have their own directory with both photos and videos.
it was an awesome meet! Can't wait until Madness 11Last edited by Team Lightning; 10-03-2016, 08:49 PM.Jerry
