I'm looking at it, and need to get a passport first. PLEASE ADD THIS TO THE EVENT MAP  - I would have, but I'm not sure of the exact location
Include as much detail as you can think of without going overboard, otay? Date, camping availability, hotels, etc...Most people don't drive what they want at all, and never will

Thanks for creating the event map Greywolf!! Westiva has been added. Oh, and just so you know it's about 2100 miles from Memphis to Wedge Pond! I'll put another post together with some camping and hotel options that aren't too far.

Information on accommodations
Here are a few more details regarding Westiva 2017 including some reasonably close camping and hotels
When: Saturday July 15th, 2017
Where: Wedge Pond, Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada (about a one hour drive from Calgary's western city limits. Use "Wedge Pond Kananaskis, AB" when searching on Google maps.)
What: Meet and greet at the pond in the morning. After our picnic lunch (provided by my wife and me... ok, mostly my wife) we'll take an cruise to grab an ice cream cone at Boulton Creek Store. This is 40km (25 mile) drive mostly along Highway 40... and yes it's worth the drive. After that there's the option of continuing up the road to Upper Kananaskis Lake.
Campgrounds in the area fill up fast so I would recommend making reservations. Some campgrounds are first come, first served but others can be reserved 90 days in advance.
Mount Kidd (http://www.mountkiddrv.com/) is the closest, and nicest, but there are a couple of other options that aren't too far away. Those would include Eau Clarie just south of the venue along with a number in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Another camping option would be in Bow Valley Provincial Park, about 40 minutes away on Highway 1 towards Canmore.
As for hotels the closest are located in Kananaskis Village, not far from Wedge Pond.
Bolokid has stayed at the Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino which is about a 20 minute drive from the event venue at the junction of Highways 1 & 40. Perhaps he could chime in here with any comments about it.
Calgary's western city limits are only about an hour or so away from Wedge Pond. There are a number of hotels on that side of town as well. If you search "motel village Calgary" you will find a number of places to stay that are conveniently located along Highway 1, the Trans Canada Highway, as it passes through the City. I live not too far from there so perhaps an early morning convoy could be set up to make our way to the venue. There are a couple of hotels right across the highway from Canada Olympic Park, the site of a number of events in the 1988 Winter Olympics. Those are the Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary West and the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites Calgary West.
One thing to keep in mind that Westiva is held during Calgary's Stampede week and hotels could possibly book up fairly early in the year. I recommend booking sooner than later.
I plan to add some other places and things that may be of interest for those of you coming for an extended stay. I've already posted about the Calgary Stampede but there's the Calgary Zoo, Banff, Lake Louise and numerous others. Subscribe or keep checking back to keep up to date!!
Looking forward to a great event!Ian

Just realized I have the incorrect link for the Sandman Hotel in the previous post. This is the correct one. Sorry for any inconvenience...

My son and I stayed at Stoney Nakota 2 years ago when we attended Westiva. Accommodations were very good and price was reasonable. I received a better price when I booked through Cheap Tickets as opposed to calling direct. They also offer "No Fee" cancellation policy.

I was looking at an article on a Festy that had a 1.8L BP engine out of a '94 Escort - it might actually be easier to find an Escort as a donor car than a Capri XR2, since there were TONS of Escorts made and sold. As of right now I'm thinking BP instead of B6 for my next efforts. What will be real cool is if the 2.0 Ecoboost from the 2014 and onward Focus cars will fit...Most people don't drive what they want at all, and never will
