I know michigan may not happen, If it were there I would definetly make it, as for oklahoma and crap, that is so freakin far man. I would maybe still go but not in the festiva, the baby radiator doesn't hold the BP to well. I would have to take it out on a flat bed. Have you guys set a date at all? and what about one of the dakotas? anyone know anything there? Im way the hell in Idaho. Can't wait to meet all you guys though!

St Louis is only a 9 hour drive from Cleveland, so that's doable for us. About 13 hours from Baltimore. That's not too too bad, if it was a good event. Perhaps a track day or something more than just your regular get-together.
I can probably pile 3 more people in the assfire, though that'd make the 9 hour trip take about 12 hours. Still not a bad trip. Just gotta make sure to get new air fresheners before the ride

OK it is obvious we will not be able to pick a spot that is convenient for EVERYONE. So if ideas are thrown around that is to far for anyone, don't cry about it. If it is too far and you can't go, sorry. There is no sense in catering for one person. And that goes for me as well. If it's in Florida or somewhere far like that, I am not going. But I won't bitch and moan about it. What we should do is get a couple of solid places lined out and VOTE on it where it should be. Than everyone get on setting up a venue in that area. And then get a date going.
Tradition is good, don't get me wrong, but if you always put it in Michigan there are people that will just never be able to make it. My idea is to move it to a different location every year, so we all can share the wealth across the USA. or.....canada...I guess (Canadians, don't really count )
So I guess I'll throw my vote in. I vote south central USA. Any where in that area. Cast your vote, and somebody start a poll.

I posted this on all the US Festiva related communities (might have missed 1 somewhere tho)
OK folks, we need some input and we are virtually out of time. In case
you haven't seen the other posts on the FML or FF.com, we wanted to have ff 05 in Detroit at the end of July.
But, from what I understand, Waterford is a private track, and so far, we can't contact the previous host. We can't just pick a weekend and crash the joint.. So we are calling on all of the online Festiva communities to see what we can do. So far we have had offers, but nothing that compares to Waterford as far as atmosphere and everything being in the same place.
What would be great is somewhere around Missouri/central US with campgrounds on a nice lake with a road track, food and lodging there or
near by.
We would need whomever is closest and interested to help host and set up the event. We want to start taking arrivals Friday night at the
campgrounds, and have everything over by 3pm or so on Sunday.
We will need to have all the standard BBQ stuff, tables, chairs, cooking, eating and drinking stuff.set up for Saturday afternoon. And have a cruise on Sunday before we leave. If we get enough local support, we can really make this a great festival.
If it's held any further west than Missouri, Roger at FMS and allot of
others won't be able to attend. I would like to see all of the site
operators there. I will be looking into getting together a few contests
and prizes.. like parts,decals,t-shirts etc.. schedule a few giveaways.
People that want to support us but can't go will be able to help by
donating services, prizes or cash. I'm sure donations can be sent to any
of the site owners who are attending.
If need be, email me at technostiva@fordfestiva.com or call 713-475-1148
and leave a message and I will call you back.
Thanks,
Dj

joplin would kick butt since thats right in my backyard, and it is basically central to the us. St Louis would be pretty awesome too, but being a big city i dunno how easy it would be to find a campground nearby, kansas city has the same problem (it's my hometown and i can't think of a camping area). springfield would be good, we could all take a cruise to the bass pro shop heh. just hoping it's somewhere in my area so that i can attend, if not it'll have to be '06 when i have got some vacation time comming!Jesus is on my dashboard, But the Devil is under my hood

Matt,
It is possible for a club to rent the track for a private event.
However, you'll need to email Carl to find out pricing (
carl@mokandragway.com ).
Thanks,
Craig Blanton
craig@mokandragway.com
I e-mailed him today. Should get a return tomorrow.
