I bought a mountain bike in St. Louis a few years ago. I found a very cool state campground north of the city along the river. it was the kind of place with no park offices and you just pay who ever is camping in spot #1. Kinda honor system that you will pay at all. It's around St Charles area and there are bike trails. Can't remember then name of the park though. I'm kinda thinking that it's along the Katy trail between Marthasville and St. Charles. Someone in that area help me out here. Nathan

      Hi Mat,

We do rent to clubs on occasion. Here is the text of a standard deal we did with the Pontiac Club last year. We can do fewer hours, and decrease the cost accordingly. (We just made a deal with the KIA owners group for a three hour rental in late July.)

Six hour rental rate is $1,200.

This includes all track personal and track prep.

It does not include gate personal. It does not include medical standby (this is about $45 per hour, but, at this time, is optional.)

Everyone that enters the pits must sign a release of liability.

This rate is for a "club" event only, and not for a "promotion" where you are looking to draw spectators and racers at large from the local area.

A $300 deposit is needed a month in advance. If the event is canceled (your call) at least one hour in advance, it will be refunded. If we open and race for one hour, no refund on deposit. If we run for less than three hours due to weather, half price. After three hours it is pro rated at $200 per hour.

On the three hour deal, we would be looking at $600 total, $200 deposit, all other terms as stated above.

let me know what time of year you have in mind.

      THNAKS!

      Carl

That sounded a little expensive to me. Exspecially if I can race on friday for $25. If you still would like Mo-Kan I would suggest go on Friday. I can Usually get as many runs in as I like! I made 15 one night in my mustang. Like i said It is a round robin type of deal, and you can make as many runs along as you get back in line.

what did you honestly think it would cost? 1200 sounds cheap actually.

They have to pay everyone, power the entire track w/electricity and set up everything. Thats a lot of man hours right there.

Hell we had to pay $1500 for a 8 hour long dyno day. We made it all back by having over 60 cars dyno their shizzle for $40 each (made a bit of profit too bwahaha)

Not a bad price if you can get a bunch of people to show up. I did a track day here and it was $200 per person for 4 hours and there were about 30 people there. That included medical standby and 2 laps with an "instructor"

Well, then. It is up to you guys. I can rent the track just for us. Maybe it wouldn't be bad if we also invited the 323, protege, and escort guys.

So far, it looks like Detroit guys.. Roger called today and said Tim is supposed to call him back tonight to see if we can get track time. (no promisses tho) July 23-24 at Waterford Hills Race park. I know some of you have said that it's too far, But if Tim Deronne is going to help keep the tradition, I won't argue. I will know 100% for sure by tomorrow.

We will need some Michigan people there to help set it up.

I will be coming up from Houston and would like to go with others along the way.

              more soon...

Hell it's not nothing for me to put together a ff.com south central meet. We could all go to Battle Ground Park or Texas City Dike or just BBQ and/or camp on the beach near Galveston.. lot's of sun and sand around here.. I even have a private beach, but I just got it and haven't redone the beach house yet.. (it's really delapitaded and I've been too busy to go out there) But I wouldn't be able to make 2 trips.. Go to Detroit and Host Houston is all I could do.

7 hours 45 minutes from Rockville to Detroit, if we do not have a better turn out than Ohiostiva, I AM TURNING AROUND AND GOING HOME!!! i want a confirmed number before i go since FB71 is not going a long ride by myself!!!!!

Or it could be 22 hours and 7 minutes (nearly 1500 miles) to Galveston,TX
                            which one is more tempting

Damn feel sorry for you living in Rockville  Grew up there before moving to WV. If that is the weekend, and the place, I should be able to make it. Have to check the schedule at work tomorrow. We are on some stupid floating schedule for the summer.

unless i can get a ride with somoene from MD up there I wouldn't go, and even still I am not sure I could go. Its a good 3-4 days I'll need off in a row
