Avatars, how do?

Since forever has been my desire @ ff.com, to have a cool pic of some sort as my "avatar"?

Anyone with some good suggestions, since my available pics all are too large; even ones for email/preview on cds?

Trying to use photobucket has never yet been successful for me; so perhaps there is something being done wrong?

And/or are there other methods available?(easy ones!)

If your pics are quite large, use something like MS paint or Adobe Photoshop (for example) and reduce the size that way. Thankfully, there is no need to worry about the quality with the av, as it is generally too small to notice..
Alternitavely pop one of your pics up and one of us will reduce it for you.
As for suggestions- sky's the limit mate. A Festiva pic, or a pic of yourself, your favourite team etc etc etc....

actually you can use photobucket to make it whatever size you want. I have used it to make all my avatars.

Looks like your "forever desire" has been realized. You'll have to desire bigger next time. BTW is that a picture of BobWhan in an airplane ?

Id like to use the .giff in my sig as my avator, but its file size is just a tad too big. I mean like only 1.5kb too big.

I had a gif for my sig at one time. Somebody here made it for me. I can't remember who. :embarassed:

I wanted to change my avatar with a pic from photobucket but cant seem to figure it out

If you go to User CP and then along the right hand side go down til you find Edit Avatar. Click on that and choose Use Custom Avatar. You have the choice of entering the URL from Photobucket or uploading one from you computer. Check that 1 and enter the photobucket URL for that pic. Then click Save Changes at the bottom and youre all set. Remember though the pic or gif has to be 80 x 80 or 19.5kb whichever is smaller.
So if the pic you want to use doesnt fit that criteria you are either SOL or you need to resize the pic accordingly. Its the reason I cant use the gif in my sig as my avatar it meets 1 part but not the other.
