Is the thirty minute limit to edit; for everyone?

This has gone on for years now; but, I am wondering now based upon the pop-up message below, if everyone has only thirty minutes to edit their posts.

Some of the long off-topic posts I've made before the thirty minute to edit ruling; were greatly enhanced by having time to sleep on what I'd written, then revising extensively for readability, clarity and content.


"The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 30 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."

If I'm being limited when others aren't, I feel I deserve an explanation?

I can remember there was some bickering a long time ago about who said what blah blah blah.... when what was really happening was members were going back, editing their posts to make themselves look good as if they didnt start it..... so they put a stop to it by limiting the edit time

We had people changing what they typed after responses were posted.

If you need something important changed, such as a [FS]/[WTB] drop a PM to a Mod/Admin and they can fix you up!

Otherwise, repost explaining your error.

About a year ago, I was going from a dentist appointment at a place next to the parking lot of the ARCO station south of Everett, WA at the 128th Street exit off Interstate 5. Where I've gotten into the habit of filling up in round trips from Bellingham to Seattle & back, which is a long story.

Heading west to make a left turn off of what I guess was still 128th there, onto old 99/Aurora Avenue, the heavily trafficked four-lane commercial thoroughfare from Everett through Seattle to Tacoma and south; I ended up first at the light in the left-turn lane, with zillions of cars behind me waiting for the light to change.

Suddenly the thought hit: "EVERYONE IS AFTER ME"

I'm thinking just now, when human social evolution takes a weary tack in some other direction; the automobile will come to be regarded as a major form of insanity and other unsavory things, just guessing? Certainly within my lifetime personally, a long time ago!

It seems to me they're actually quite tollerant.

I wondered the same thing as Bobstad, 'Are they sanctioning me?' I reasoned it through, and came to the conclusion that they were doing it for the purpose of maintaining a 'knowledge base'.

Researching a topic was seriously hindered by the threads that had been redacted multiple times; many of them made no sense whatsoever.
