deleting a post?

I've just tried a couple times, to delete a post; which didn't work.

Making me think this may take time to register, in that thread?

The post works well, with a quote of someone else's post; though without that makes no sense, as far as continuity of expression.

I've posted the thing correctly in the same thread, so probably easy to spot what happened a few minutes ago.

You can report the post and request that it be deleted... standard users don't have that ability. It gives us a little more control over fights and whatnot by restricting those permissions.
