    I'm not sure this is where I should post this, but it's as close as I can figure...


    I'm going to be putting in a carputer, needless to say, power is going to be an issue.

    Has anyone ever put a bigger alternator in their car, say from a 626? OR do we know of an alternator that has the matching bolt pattern, but a little more grunt?

    I seem to remember that dj ran two?

    I put in an alternator from a 1994 323. I just had to dremel the top bracket a little for the bolt to fit. That alternator is a 65amp as opposed to a 50amp festiva alternator.
    90 Festiva with Brand new B3, 5spd
    92 B6 Festiva, 5spd
    94 Mustang DSS 331, Vortec S-Trim, 5 spd
    94 Mustang GT, stock, automatic

      Cool, Is there anything bigger than 65amps? I was thinking of a 626 as most came with power seats & such...

        if your handy there are bolt holes on the front of the block for the ac/ps accessories. you could make an adaptor plate to run a 2nd alt there. i think it has been done.

          3rd page of this thread shows a 2nd alt rated at 160 amps..
