I put some i think it was 5 1/2 or 6 inchers in the doors on my last festiva....if you remove the inner door panel there is a round hole perfect for a speaker mount...just required a little cutting in the panel...if i can find some pictures ill post em later

It took me about 14 hours(highly ADD mind you) because I had to run power mirror wires, and speaker wires into my doors, and it is quiet difficult to strip wires with kid scissors. I first mounted my speakers directly on the door panels, but the window cranks were smacking the grills(I wasn't willing not to use grills) so I mounted the speaker and grill directly to the door and cut out a hole for the grill. On the back speaker panels I just went at them with a dremel after tracing my circles on the top. Pretty straight forward, just boring and time consuming.
Stock speakers are 4'' in the front, 5.5'' in back. I chose 6.5''s because they are the most mainstream, and can produce a pretty full range of sound at low watts.
Yeah, I got a Pioneer combo that included a head unit and 4 6.5'' speaker for $100 at 5:30am yesterday. I spent the rest of the day installing them. Funny thing was I had never looked at my front speakers and assumed they were crappy stock ones, but someone had upgraded them to 4'' Boston speakers w/tweeters. Man was I shocked, they cost $120 new. They are in good condition so I might put them back in the stock location and wire them into my new stereo.
