  • Window problems

So I had a pair of 5 1/4s in. Couldn't roll the window down very far after! I know it may defy the laws of physics to fix it, but can i?
Of course the red makes it go faster..

I've been there and done that and I would call it a learning experience My solution was to add a spacer ring on the door panel - between the door and the speakers. You can get them at any decent car stereo shop. I believe mine came from metra. They generally come in black plastic but they take gray paint very well so you could paint to match if you like. I actually painted the spacers and the speaker grill to match and it looked way more factory if that is what you are into.
I'm going to come at you like a spider monkey!

I have a pair of infinity 6 1/2's I bought slightly used from a buddy many years ago, and had to use the spacer rings he had made from plywood, covered in gray leather, very sharp looking, but he was a furniture maker/cabinet maker, so he was VERY precise with wood, I haven't bought stereo equipment in so long, sounds like b8kedbeans might be onto something. The spacer gets the magnet far enough out that it does not catch the window.....
