  • USB head unit

I got a Sony head unit with a USB input, its GREAT! It also has the Aux headphone input but the USB is much better. All you need is a thumb drive and your good to go. A nice 4gb one does the trick, you can flip folders and it displays titles. I just like the fact you can control it on the deck and dont have to fiddle with an MP3 player. Anybody else got one?

    i haven't used a CD in months

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I hook my zune up, that way if I have to wait, I can watch movies, and have sound through my stereo, but music on a thumb drive would be even more convenient!

My JVC unit in the Festiva has a USB port on it too. It also plays DVD's and outputs to a monitor. So, I've got one of them installed and I usually just burn a huge selection of my music over to a DVD and go through that way.

The USB is nice for charging my iPhone when I've forgot my power cord elsewhere... or when I download new music and don't feel like burning a new disc.

I dont have a radio at all. I am using Ipod using headphone jack on one side then RCA jacks on the other and plugged into a 4 channel amp.

rolla - Good idea, especially if theft is an issue around you (unless they steal the amp)...

My headunit has inputs, so I usually let the GF plug her iPod in when we drive in the car together.

right now I'm building a computer primarily set up for war driving. I'm going to build a tower place it behind my back seat or under passenger I'm not sure yet but some special ventilation will be needed.. then where the little clock goes i was going to put in a usb hub in there and a power socket... i have all the parts but the in dash tv... and the ventilation just want to get my car all fixed up before i do it.. oh and don't forget about the omni directional antena I'm going to mount on the hatch...

the 80 walmart one is just fine for most people. 10 years ago if it wasnt a big brand you got what you paid for but not so much with radios nowadays
