Anyone has experience getting the pc to scanner working?

n/m bad serial cable.

I've wired it to my car pc & put the trunk tracker in the trunk.
Total investment, $30 for the mag mount, $25 for the serial cable.
Not bad considering they want about $300 for the remote head unit.

I still have one and have several linears .

I love SSB radios , and love to shoot skip .

I won a new 500 watt amp for my radio and have never installed it yet .

I installed the huge-o Uniden bearcat. How does the amp thing work?

You should see my car, bristling with antennas.

I have several, my old realistic, I used to have a small cobra, I have a big one, ala uniden.

I need to setup my homebase.

Factory CB radios have 4 to 5 watt output , the linear amp I have will boost it to 500+ , it makes for good long distance talking .

I have a nice amp for a home base 1,500 watts , just no base to hook it to at this time .

I would love to run into someone that has a Browning Golden Eagle , or a Tram D210 , or just a good ol Cobra 139 with SSB.

I will get my radio hooked up soon in the car , just have put it off , because I know what will happen when I pull a load on the stock alternator ..LOL


I have a nice ground plane and 3 sections of tower for home .

I wish I had never got rid of my mobile that I had in my semi . Mirage 88 and a Texas Star 1200 , It would swing 1,500 watts

i use to shoot skip all the time. Had a Uniden with a 500 watt kicker and a moonraker on top of tower. I use to go by the Lonely Bear. My saying on radio was: I am the original, one and only, fuzzy wuzzy, one hair, fat , but very beautiful lonely bear, alias the chubby cubby, dubbed sir kook, hate and discontent control for channel 20, for sure. we had a cb club that me and couple of air force buddies started a club which was named: The traveling Twenty, out of Northern California. Man, those were good times.

I can't wait to be online with my big one someday , hooked to a base 1,500 dead key .

I won it at a CB shootout in a raffle last year , best $5.00 spent .
