  • How hard would it be?

We, how hard would it be,
    to put this:

into this, the bigger cubby hole in the console, and make it work?

Yeah it is a pic of Old Red, I hope it doesn't bother you that I used it, just I remembered that, that is the best pic of a full console.

What brand is it? Is it a Factory radio?
Just buy a aftermarket harness for the Festiva(metra 70-1781) and an aftermarket harness for the one you have, then match the wires up and you can plug it into the factory sound system.

Then the only problem you have is to mount it. Measure it up to see if it'll fit. The mounting tabs on the side could be bent or you could mount it to the front of the plastic and put trim around it.

Take it back to the back porch, join the 3 string revolution.

The radio is factory for a newer mustang, I just got the idea when I saw it for sale on craigslist for $50 http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/pts/1045577223.html And thought, hey, maybe there is a way to mount this in an LX console. I think your idea might work anomoly40, thanks.

Can't imagine it would be too difficult.
We have the schmat of the fester wiring and likely the radio has it schemat on the radio itself.
Most difficult thing would be to mount in the consol, and I think you have enough room.
              So give it a shot.

I sold one of these Ford Focus radios on eBay. I measured it first to see if it would fit. Too much trouble. I am saving for a Pioneer AVIC-N5. The bottom cubbyhole is still reserved for my square Kleenex box.

that shouldn't be too hard to do, mounting would be the worst part of it all

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Im trying hard to understand this statement. Thats a standard Ford radio w/cd. Theyre in F150s and just about any other Ford made.

The more important question would be. Why would you want to put that monstrosity in your Festiva?

Hey, I understand its cheap, if you can get it to work.
The code and link to the ECU worries me.
Of course, I had 100,000 miles on Big Blue before I thought about putting a stereo in him!
