  • 6X9 Q

ok i just installed 4 pioneer 4" speakers into my 92 austiva and now i've managed to get my hands on a brand new set of pioneer 6x9's (to cheap to say no to)
my plan is to make another parcelshelf cause the current one is made of crappy thin wood with a steel support running across it (dead stock)
and mount the 2 6x9's on it but my question is what is the best way to wire them up, either disconect the back two 4"s and wire the 6x9's in their place or or keep them installed and splice the wirers so my head unit is pushing all 6, its a pioneer head unit so its got more than enough power behind it

    splice it

I think I would just splice it if you think its got enough power, if your really worried about effecting the quality which it shouldn't just put a set of those quick disconnect crimps on them, so if you can compair with and without easy without crimping and re crimping.

one thing you may want to be careful of is how you wire up the rear speakers, if you run the rear speakers by just splicing them you may end up ruining your head unit as the resistance will be 2ohm. I do beleive that the pioneer head units are 4ohm and they are not switchable. Just a word of warning.
