  • newbie Questions on hookup

I have a 4 channel Hart amp, an AlpineCD7874, 4 speakers and I want to add a powered subwoofer. What is the best way to hook it up--I'm not sure how to make the best of what I have. Should I be using the amp in the Alpine for front and bridge the amp for the rear speakers and if I do that how do I get the output for the sub?
    Thanks for any help

i think my best suggestion would be to power the 4 speakers with the 4-channel amp, and buy a sub and a mono-block amp to power it. not sure what your budget is though. But I'm sure you can find at different prices

Why i suggest another amp for the sub is because you could split frequencies, thus having a much better sound system

by getting a mono amp that is defo the only way to get enough power and control to a sub.

if you have a good front end, why not try and bridge the 4channel amp to the front speakers and use the h/u to power the rear. this should sound a bit more balanced once the sub is in.

That would work because the Alpine h/u has pre-amp out for front and rear/subwoofer. The output for rear can be setup so it isn't controlled by the front/rear fader but the level is adjustable. If I do that do I just hook one side of the rear/subwoofer output to the sub amp?
