I need to replace the 5.25 speakers in the aspire. I'm looking at pioneer 5.25's to replace them, was thinking of going to 6.25 but it's not worth the cost. I can get 2, 3, and 4 ways, the 2-ways are pretty cheap and 3-ways seem like the middle of the road. I can get the 3-ways at wally world for $36 right now. I'm not running a amp to those speakers, would I hear much of difference between the 3's and 4's, I know would betwen the 2's and 3's. Okay now onto the subs.. i'm not looking for ground shaking teeth jarring bass, just enough to rattle the windows a little and sound good. I've looked at the infinity basslink which is 200w and 10" and self enclosed which I found for $160. I want to put whatever I do under the passenger seat, cargo space is valuable. I'm not set on the basslink yet, but I would like to have something I can put under the passenger seat plug it and go, or should I look at building my own system? Out of all car repairs/upgrades the audio system is the one I don't look forward to, way to many choices and if you make the wrong one it sounds like crap. I found that out when I put a sony cd player pushing infinity reference speakers in escort, crapola.

I went ahead and bought these speakers today: http://www.kcautosound.com/store/pro...cat=265&page=1
This place has excellent customer service. He didn't have any in stock right now, they should be coming in in a day or two, and called to tell me that only a 1/2 hr after the order, which was at 7pm. I not affilated with them so don't get wrong, but a place with this quality of customer service should be passed on!!91 rusty Festiva 260k

I'm not a expert but if it was up to me this is the setup I would use.
With seat:
One 12" sub with a sub box setup that covers the entire the hatch floor similiar to desroaches, awesome job btw.
With a 600-700 watt amp under the passenger seat or built in to the box.
without seat:
If you could find some way to relocate the spare build a box and put it in there. Basically the same setup.
With the aspire I found 2 12" subs was way to much for my liking. I just downsized to one and I find it good enough with a crapy 1000w profile amp. I'm going to use the other sub in the stiva with a box setup similar to desroaches with the 12" sub and two 6x9's builtin. I have to install a new headunit in it first so it'll be a while. I really don't want to remove the seat in the festiva or aspire.. the cars seem alot quieter on the highway with the seats soaking up the noise from the rear.91 rusty Festiva 260k

Nah if I got another festiva i'd be murdered, plus insurance is eating me up. BTW if you want some excellent sounding speakers db Drive's speed series from kcautosound.com is what i'm using in the aspire. When I get the money i'm replacing all my auto speakers. They're expensive compared to pioneers but if you hear the difference between the two their worth it. But you will need a sub with them, they don't put out much bass. What type of music do you listen to? That will determine what you need.91 rusty Festiva 260k

My Festy sound setup:
A midrange sony deck pushing four 4" speakers (not factory, pioneer replacements) with a 2-channel 200 watt amp on two 10" subwoofers. It sounds great! In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry
and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
