  • Festiva Radio Harness - Does this look right??

Is this what the factory harness plug is supposed to look like on a 1992 Ford Festiva? It looks as though someone might have switched it out and hacked the wires.

I bought a harness from the local radio shop, and it does not match up with what this plug sticking out of the dash looks like.......

So either the plug I bought is incorrect, or that is not a factory harness in the dash.

    Thanks guys!

it's not that hard. take a look at a wiring diagram if you can or the12volt.com has most of the color codes...

use a 9v battery to 'pop' test for the speakers. quickly tap the two wires to the two terminals on the battery and the corresponding speaker should make a 'pop' noise.

you can use a test light to find your constant 12v and switched 12v, too.

X2. Only Batstiva actually came with the factory radio still installed. The other two came with no radios and all the wiring hacked up. Grab a Haynes, and go to it. Didn't take me more than 30 or 40 minutes to install the new radio in either car.

I believe the three plug-ins are white, blue, and brown. The WHT/RED wire is hot at all time, BLU/YEL is hot in RUN/ACC only. All the others are front and rear speaker wires.
