Maybe tap into the speaker output?

i was told that was bad because then u got high frequincys (how ever u spell that) through the sub

the only real solution is to get a new deck. If you tap into the speakers u will have a high frequency coming threw and killing your subs

no... get a 3way active crossover less than 50.00 it will take dual channel and create it's own sub level out.
