    First Post!

Hey, I have owned my festiva for about 5 months, and I want some new speakers! I have no speakers in the back, and I believe there have never been any, so when I'm wondering is whether there will be a wire by the mount, or will I need to run a wire to the back?

1993 L (On the registration it says LV) I looked through the back end today to try and find the wire (if there is one) and I was unsuccessful. So if there should be a wire there, whereabouts would I find it?

You have no speakers currently back there? I thought all models beyond 90 had speakers in the back. If you don't somebody cut the wires. Look above for the wire colors its probably tucked under the interior body pieces or if somebody cut them you may have open some of the wire looms..they may be hidden.

So lets say they did cut them, what pieces would I need to remove in order to access the possible location? I already took out that back panel and looked, but couldn't see much. Maybe i'll take anothe look tonight. Thanks for the help so far!

The far back panel and the top piece that holds the speaker. If I had the festiva here I'd take a pic to help ya. I wouldn't be suprised though if you couldn't find them through the brake light access panels, they're feed through there anyways or close to. On the passenger side there will one connector that's not for the speaker though it's for the cargo light.

I ran into the same problem with my 93 festiva, except that it had no speaker at all. All of the wireing harness is there though. The speaker connectors for the back are taped behind the big plastic pannel that is below the speaker housing. There are alot of screws you have to take out, but you'll find it back there. And like eric said, on the right side there are two plugins, one for the speaker and one for the cargo light.

nonamekid, were they taped with blue "meshy" tape? becuase I remember I saw that inside the panel. Maybe you just solved my problem. My GF just bought some speakers for the front, now maybe I can go buy some for the back! I'll fill you in tomarrow (hopefully its warmer again) if they are the connectors. If they are, how do I access the one on the other side?!?

if the wires have been cut you probably find them in the paneling in the boot (trunk) post 90 tivas had speakers in the rear and it wont be to much of a drama hooking them up its just a matter of getting the paneling out to retrieve the wires
i got 4 new shocks put in mine and the guys at pedders suspension has to unwire my parcel shelf and speakers the pull out the panels and get to the shock bolts, they never wired them back and the wires went back into the paneling, not a fun job but worth it

I found one! on the right (facing forward) side of the car in the back panel, it was taped with a bunch of other crap. I can't find the other... but there are some wires that lead between the plastic covering and the tire well area, so I think I'll get that off and check things out! thanks again.

The one on the left side was easier for me to find then the one on the right side, but maybe it is because I take apart festivas all the time. If you found the one on the right side, there is one on the left side, it might just take a little bit of work to find, but it shouldn't be that tough.
