  • The (Nearly) Finished Product!

Well, I started this two weeks ago with a couple of friends. We built the box, and installed the amp, the head unit, and the 6x9's. We also made a section that can come out of the base for easy access to the spare tire. So at that time I had some crap 4" in front, stock 4" in rear being powered by the head unit, along with the 300w amp powering my 6x9's.

Then just this friday I got some old alpine 6.5" from my girlfriends dad for25 cents (CDN) each. It was a joke, but i still paid him. He had them since he was in university, and never used em once. so thats makes them about 20 years old, but still brand spankin new. So the following day I figured out where I would hook them up, and go tto work. I figured that the best place would be to create a shelf on the back, and power them by the head unit. So I cut it all out to fit, got the speakers to fit, upholstered it with vinyl leather stuff and popped 'er in and wired em up. They run GREAT! I actually had to turn the gain up on my amp just to match the 6x9's with the 6.5's. Lastly, I'm still going to put a 10" sub in there as well, then I should be done Here are a few pictures. I just washed my car, and figured I'd get the pictures before it got all brown again.

    Tell me what you think.

The back setup looks real good. Are you going to do anything for the front speakers? I had to take the grills off of mine with the pioneers and i've never been able to figure out what to cover them with.

I think my best option would be is to cut a hole in the centre of the grill to fit the tweeter into. The only problem is if I buy some better, decent speakers, they could end up looking really bad. I think depending on the size of that tweeter, you may be able to take the glove compartment out, and mount of the opposite side ( from the inside) and that might buy you enough space to fit the grill on. Mine has no hope for that though.

Also, I realized this thread is in the wrong section, sorry about that, if a mod wants to put it in the correct forum that'd be great.
