  • Which Head Unit mounting Kit works for a 1989 Ford Festiva?

Hope this hasn't been addressed before, but a search didn't turn up anything.

I just bought a new head unit and need a mounting kit for it. What have you guys used?

    I found one here: http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Met...lation-Kit.htm
By the pictures, I don't trust it will fit.

Via another thread, I found that I need to use a Scosche Model: HA502 SKU: 7197972 wiring harness wich Best Buy sells.

It would be nice if we could make a sticky with this basic info for quick reference.

I remember reading the scosche wiring adapter from an 89 rx7 works in a Festiva. All the new head units I've purchased came with a metal cage that you could bend to fit any single DIN opening

Here you go! Made by Scosche, and is a direct bolt on part.

My Dad and I just got it installed. Thanks a bunch!

The Haynes Repair manual had some duplicate wire colors (No duplicates on my car though), but we figured it out and the fade and balance work perfectly
That's an improvement over our last attempt on a Nissan NX where we really messed the fade and balance up. We just thought, "Who needs faders in a 2-dr car anyway?" and left it like that.

I used a mounting kit from Best Buy. $20 and all plastic. Would've probably been better to use the one DriverOne suggested since it is metal, but the one I used should be fine.
I opted out of the wiring harness for various reasons including the fact that the wires were already crimp connected.

Did Scosche get bought up by someone, I can't seem to find that adapter for the Festiva at all. I used to see it all the time when I searched for it on Ebay and amazon, but now when I search I keep getting what the OP originally posted. I see NOTHING on Scosche, all Metra stuff that isn't what I am looking for.

          Edit: Nevermind found it.

Sorry about bring this thread back from the dead. lol
