  • Door-speaker mounting

Hey, I tried the search but nothing's come up (probably using incorrect key words...)

But I'm looking to get some 5 1/2" speakers into the doors... the only issues I'm running into are I can't find plastic plugs that fit into the little squares to drive screws into to secure the speakers...

Anyone willing to shed some insight on this?

    Thanks!

I used 6.5" speakers and screwed them into the metal.

Wal mart sells a kicker. It's a 5 3/4 sounds pretty good and looks decent and fits behind the window crank. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375151437.177624.jpg predrilled holes in the metal and used supplied clips and screws. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375151541.365624.jpg

I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is pretty proprietary to a very specific speaker. Probably a kia part. I'd say maybe fourgreen would have some? But they are gonna be a stock kia speaker from the 80s...if they exist.

For the plastic pieces you could try an auto parts store. Some have miscellaneous things like that under the Help! brand or something similar. Think license plate holders.

For mine, I used the included clips and attached them to the door card making door panel removal easier.

If you want to use the stock holes. You should make somee mdf rings.
Drill holes to mount it to the stock screw hole locations.
Then screw the new speaker onto the mdf ring wherever the holes line up.
                      Running 40psi.....in my tires.
