  • Thinking about installing one of these in Trixie.

Has anyone installed one of these with a backup camera in their Festiva?

If so, what problems did you come across?

I haven't installed one but the resolution on the unit you posted is not very high. I think you will be disappointed I would look for something with higher resolution. If you want to see what it looks like you can change your computer monitor to that resolution.

You may want to consider installing some parking sensors in the rear bumper.

              I have a nice one.

No complaints besides it only plays pal format dvds, I have a dvd player under the passenger seat though.

Completely agreed. The slim panels on this car's quarter-panels and trunk/bumper assembly make this car an absolute breeze to navigate through tight spaces. I've had great success with fitting a slightly larger rear-view clip-on mirror though.

I have to agree completely. Unless you have a bad neck that keeps you from turning your head, I don't see the need. However, I need one for my Eagle that has a rear mounted spare that blocks some of the rear view, so I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I'll be 70 in December so who knows when my neck will start getting stiff.

Now that's a good idea...They are cheap enough and I'll be working in the hatch to install the back up camera.
Come to think of it, I bet it would not be to hard to install a power hatch lift too.

I want one that has android operating system, wifi, hands free phone, blue tooth, gps and maybe even analog TV (which I'll probably never use).

Agreed.... I really have no problem seeing in the rear. I really just want to add more bells and whistles to Trixie.

No.. don't really need one now.. but may in the future. Whats neat is when you have one pointed at your trailer hitch ball...it lets you line up perfectly with the hitch.

Nice... and less expensive, but I'm looking for more bells and whistles. I'm jealous after installing one that has just about everything on my daughter's car earlier this year.

I know what you mean about visibility in those...I installed one in my daughter's 2004 Matirx earlier this year.

I'm going to hold off on installing anything on Trixie...other than power steering, if I can find find a way to do it for $250 or less.
