any improvement??

can you get speakers that are the stock size and will fit that are an improvement over the stock ones? or would you have to get bigger ones? not much of an audio guy.

for the dash speakers, almost anything would be an improvement. Their mounted in a bad location for sound, and are cheapo's... pick up a set of Pioneer 4 1/2's or if you want to spend a bit more some kenwood 4.5's... the Infinity 4.5's and rockford 4.5's don't fit on the drivers side cause the magnets are too big.

Prolly means Rockford Fosgate 4" - 2 way speakers in all the speaker locations in the car .

sorry.. Rockford Fosgate 4" 2 way (mid/tweeter in the same cone) That still isn't going to get any real good bass with any 4" 2 ways

For a small nice sounding system, I would get a 3-4 channel amp and run the rear speaker wires as amp inputs. Feed the 2 rear speakers from 2 channels of the amp and feed either a single subwoofer bridged (bridged makes 2 stereo channels into a single mono channel) or 2- 6" x 9" 3 ways (3ways = bass/mid/tweeter in the same cone) mounted on a reinforced cargo cover with the other channels.

The above system should run +- 250.00

what size do they have to be to fit in the stock holes? and is there any way (besides subs) i could get some decent bass? we have a minivan with pretty good bass, and i would be satisfied with something like that. wow, i'm really clueless. :lol:

if your missing bass the 4's are not the way to go.. specially since the front speaker baffles aren't sealed. I'd definately say get some 6x9's in the rear deck and still upgrade the fronts so you can get them a bit louder without disporting the heck out of them.

or for about $40 and 2 hours work, get some 6.5" speakers with shallow magnets and mount them in the doors

the Festiva stereo is weak as hell.. You'll be lucky to push 2 good 6 x 9s without an amp..
