Hey all. Got my Festiva broke into and they ripped out the radio(I had a detachable face but never bothered to take it off-I live in a retirement community for gods sake) and speakers in the doors, ell they even stole my floormats. Anyway I am wondering what kind of security/alarm I could hook up for the car at this point, anyone into that stuff or got some good info let me know. Thanks, Jason.

Well Jason welcome to the club.. I went into a J/Y and came out with a bent window frame stereo gone and my notebook gone containing all my personal notes and numbers etc.. These cars aren't hard to get into.. Actually the best security you can get is a video camera pointing at the car at night... pull a nice looking J/Y stereo put it in there and stake it out because once they're busted, you help everyone in the area.. I have an alarm, but everyone ignores them.. the new ones will page you, but again by the time you get to it they've already stole your stuff..

if you do get an alarm i would go with the ones that page you. i got one for my 300ZX (not hooked up yet) and it will tell me if my hoods been opens doors etc. it's also a remote start, (if you got power locks) it will lock and unlock your doors etc. a lot of my friends have them, it's made by Compustar (not sure if you've heard of them) and it cost me around $250 Can.
as far as i can tell it's a pretty good alarm
