Where is a good place to ground an amplifier in a festiva?

Any bolt on the frame of the car, just make sure you sand the paint off around where its gonna make contact and you shouldnt have any problems.

Trust me you would know if your car wasnt grounded properly, my mr2 cought on fire when I had a bad ground, it tried grounding itself through the path of least resistence, throttle cable, speedo cable, wiring harness.

Check to make sure you have good body grounds under the hood

normally a ground for an amp is best in the back, not under the hood, i use the bolts for the lower part of the seatbelt, it works great

I was saying to make sure the body grounds from battery to engine or battery to body were good.

Is there a certain place on the firewall to run 4gauge through?

on the passenger side of the firewall there's a rubber gromet that just plugs a hole there, thats where i ran my power wire through

oh, i also have 4 gage wire and through that hole you could probably fit 3 - 4 gage wires through it

Damkid do you still have the stock alternator on your car? I am going to do the big 3 upgrade along with an Optima battery and keep the stock alt. Would this be ok if I were to run about 1000watts?

^^^on a 50a alt?.. kind of pushing it in my opinion..

i do still have the stock alternator, it works but it doesn't put out enough amps to properly power a big system

There are a lot of mazda cars that use same alternator as festiva, mines a 70amp off of a 92 mazda protege.brand new reman half price at pick n pull $6.50+ tax
