  • Magnaflow muffler

Anyone know if there's any Magnaflow exhausts that fit the 91 Festiva L? I was on the magnaflow site and they don't have any for the Kia Pride,Aspire,Festiva, or 121.

They have some universal fits, but I'm not sure the diameter of the exhaust pipe going in.

Under Mufflers--Universal, they have listed a 5" x 8" oval muffler that's only 14" long, with 2" inlet/outlet, part #12214. Measure your muffler to see if this one would fit in the space your current muffler is in. You could bolt it to the existing pipe (after you cut it) using adapters and U-clamps, or have everything welded up.

But they list this muffler at $128. Frankly I'd just go buy a Turbo muffler for $20 or so at a parts store, and paint it with exhaust paint to inhibit corrosion, before I'd spend big money for a muffler.

      Would a 2.25" inlet work?

Festy exhaust pipe looks like about 1.5". No real point, and more difficult, to adapt 2.25" instead of 2".

Measure your existing pipe! I would not assume that the pipe you have is the diameter it's supposed to be (whatever that is). I think muffler shops get pretty "creative", and don't necessarily pay strict attention to OEM specs. The inside diameter is going to be real close to 1/8" less than the outside.

True. Could someone provide the outside diameter of known stock pipe, and also the aftermarket cat-back pipe from Festiva Motorsport?

Great job Packrat. Now protect it by taking it back off and spraying on a can of ceramic-impregnated exhaust paint to keep it good for a long time. Any parts store has it for about $3. I used a nice silver color when I replaced my Integra's midpipe.

Now packrat do you think a 2.25" would fit if it was just the muffler? or am I going to have to do the whole exhaust with a 2.25" pipe?

Yes you can put just a 2.25 inlet muffler on there , they will need to put a small adapter piece in there to bring the pipe size from drinking straw size   to 2.25 "

You will not gain too much , other than some sound , by just doing a muffler though .
