  • Question about removing stock carb cover

Can't think if the real name of it, but its the stock black cover that holds the filter over the carb. Can I take this thing off and just put a filter on the carb itself? I'm not sure b/c of the random crap on the side thats attached to the cover. What is that? I'm new to the Festy and not sure what all I can do with it. Thanks!

You can pull the motor if you know how...

    Just remember where everything goes.

It won't run right without the air cleaner. It is a electronic feedback carb and requires all the parts it has.

not true, the "random crap" on the filter housing is the passive A.I.R system (emissions only) removing it won't affect the driveability of the engine.

What all would I need to do to remove it and run normally?

your best bet is to leave it alone, if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it
