  • Adjusting Clutch Cable

How's the clutch cable adjust? I know by the screw on the tranny fork...

Here's my scenario: I hard accelerate in 1st and slam into 2nd, get on it and all the thing does is "slip" - ie. it doesn't make the car move.

My only thought is that maybe the cable is not properly adjusted after the new tranny... All the other cars that I've driven with a performance clutch have always broke about a 1/2 from the beginning (meaning, I put the clutch in the whole way to shift, let it out a 1/2" and it's engaged) - with MY setup, I need to let it the whole way out, but it does nothing until that last 1/2"...

How do I adjust this so it stops slipping and so that it will engage at the very beginning?

My dreams of auto-xing this weekend are starting to dwindle!

no, you wanna loosen the nut on the end of the cable to tighten the clutch, you want the pedal to go down a little bit before the clutch starts to disengage

i did this not too long ago

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Yeah, I see your right Damkid now that I think of it. ops: He is running with no free play and the throw out bearing is basically riding the pressure plate all the time and not allowing a full hook up.
