  • Stick a escort gt(BP) hean on stock b3?

My local yard has a escort gt that i was going to pull a harness, oil pan, and valve cover from and I though why not pull the head. It is like $23 or something cheap like that.

Would it bolt to a stock 88 carbed block? Would the stock bp timing belt work? I just wanted to try something different before I build a miata engine to go in my tiva.

    What do you guys think?

you could possibly do it with a DOHC 1.6 head (not positive it would work but maybe). The reason the 1.8 head won't fit is because the 1.8L is actually a longer block than the B3/B6 block.

DOHC 1.6L is the same length as the stock engine, but different placement of coolant/oil holes. BP is longer.

What about that B6t we found in the sedan? Would that 1.6 dohc head fit on the 1.3?
