  • B6 block + B3 head, will it work?

I'm wondering if a B3 head would fit a 1.6 B6 block. I do need the 8 valve head for what I race in ( only 8 valve engines allowed). A friend of mine has a B6 block laying around and I was wondering if the match would work.

You are probably going to have problems with that since the combustion chamber of the head is going to be 7mm too small. I think that it would cause a higher compression ration which also may cause some issues.

There is an 8 Valve B6 head but I don't know if all of the b6 blocks are the same so that might now work either.

I went to my buddie's place last night. It turned out to be a complete B5 engine and not a B6 block. It is 8v so no problems there. Swapping it this weekend. It's missing the TPS. Could I use a Festiva one to get it running with the efi? (My current B3 is carburated). I got the ecu and harness. I got plenty festiva ecu and efi parts available but don't feel like using the crappy Festiva MAF. They tend to give a lot of trouble. This B5 is off a Kia avella end uses a map sensor. Any thoughts on this? Could and should I use a Festiva TPS with Avella ECU?
Thanks in advance for any advise.

I'm also missing the B5 distributo and map sensor. But like I said I got access to plenty of festiva ones.

I think someone has done this for their Miata just for saving gas.
