  • Just wanted to quickly confirm....

I was just looking at the local pickyourpart listing and they have a 94 Mazda MX3 GS in stock. It's apparently a manual car. I'm confirming that the five speed in this car is identical to what is found in the Ford Escort GT and therefore can be used with the 1.6 or 1.8. I wanted to confirm that it's not a different bellhousing or anything weird. It's essentially plug-in play. Please let me know so I can try to get out there this weekend and rip it out of the car. I'm even thinking of taking the 1.8 even though I have another idea in mind... Thank you all

The starter motor is completely different. I assume it has a different bellhousing. I don't believe it will fit.
Anyone else care to chime in?

I believe the gs had a 1.8 but it was a v6 one of the smallest perduction v6s. If it's the 4cylinder it's a 1.6 similar to the b6d from the Capri with a different intake from what I remember.

I was actually looking at the transmission. And from what I understand it's not the same as the Capri, 323 GT or Escort GT. But yeah it's interesting how it's a 1.8 liter V6.
