i dont know about cold air intake but i was able to make a regular intake sytem by modifying the stock tubing and just adding the cone filter.

I did the same here. Try not to spend tons of money needlessly for custom cold air intake. I just went to Home Depo, got the widest air ducting tube reshaped my carb and attached it to collect air directly to the front so air can try to ram inside.

It's not entirely pretty, but I raised some HP, found myself saving money on gas....especially on the freeways. I'm sure FI setup would be different, please search this site.... I remember someone placing theirs just outside the firewall near their right wheel.

My setup is possible, because of the filter near the carb, FI's would require a filter before the outside of their cold air tube.

Any suggestions on how to go about adding a "waterproof" hood scoop? I have one of those mushroom-type filters that sits on top of the throttle body.
