Mine is a front mount. However, prob not like you are thinking of. I'm just using the stock XR2 Capri intercooler mounted behind the grill.

I should be getting an SRT4 intercooler from Dustin soon... but right now I'm using a Saab Blackstone intercooler mounted under the hood (which sucks).

              FMIC

I was using a modified Starion/Conquest FMIC for quite a while. Worked decently.

                  re:

You can use exhaust pipe for your intercooler tubing if your in a bind. It even comes in diameters all the way up to 5"!! It is a bit heavier, but it will work. Anyone give any thought to hooking a pair of smaller intercoolers up in series? I have seen it done on DSM's with decent results.

the Audi TT uses dual intercoolers, one in each fenderwell. Some people on vwvortex have datalogged lower intake temps and less timing pull with the dual sidemounted setup because it leaves the radiator with plenty of airflow so the engine stays cooler, allowing the ecu to advance timing farther and create more power. So if you're in a pinch and have two smaller intercoolers laying around and some pipe, it'll work, just try to keep the piping routed as directly as possible with minimal bends and such.
