  • Remote oil filter?

Does anyone run a remote oil filter on their B3? What about oversized oil filters straight on the motor? I'm thinking about using a NAPA 1515, the same as a Fram PH8. I'm going to look at the mounting bosses, I assume they're the same.

I just answered my own question. The B3 filter does not interchange with a PH8! What up with that? I've used the big Ford/Chrysler filters on Suzukis and Toyotas. But they won't fit a Ford/Mazda. Bummer.

Permacool makes a universal remote filter adapter that may work.

Does anyone know the size and threads of the stock nipple on to which the oil filter 'screws'?

(Does anyone know how I could have phrased this question without ending it with a 'verb'?)

            The thread is 20mm x 1.5.

I think someone mentioned that one of the Corvette oil filters fit our engines. I recall it looked significantly larger.

summit lists several kits for the B3, or at-least they used to, haven't checked lately. I've always wanted one but I dont have a CC to order one.

go to your local auto zone / whatever. most places will sell you one, and you pay cash.
it might be marked up a little, and they will probably have to order it, but you pay cash... just a thought.
                        Later,

Is this similar to an oil primer pump & reservoir? I want one of those!

nope just a relocator kit. You could get one from trust/greddy for 80 something on ebay. The 6607 7713 or 3593 fram filters will screw onto the block. The honda 3593 is the largest. I used to have these japanese filters that had a prime valve incorporated into the filter. They were 33 bucks a pop though. All i use is k@n now.

Larger oil filter for the Festiva

Karl is correct about the corvette oil filters working for our cars. The filter from the 1990 ZR-1 works perfectly. I have been using the corvette filter for the last 2 years. Here are the part numbers for a few of the brands:

                              Purolator L14619
                              Bosch 3401
                              STP 3985
                              Pennzoil PZ30

Let me know if this helps out:-)
