I have a pic of the tailpipe, but it's kinda boring.
My Festy is a stock '88 carby that runs well. My exhaust fell off right behind the cat converter. I had a muffler man put on a 2" single wall pipe from the cat on out behind the bumper. It follows the stock route.
Here's my impression of the power difference:
The 2" pipe seems to have slightly reduced both torque and horsepower, as compared to not having a tailpipe. I guess the tight bends in the pipe cause this (?). The exhaust system is a huge improvement, overall, I have no regrets. The sound, with no muffler, is SWEET, mellow and ricer! The motor runs smoother. Before, if I didn't have the throttle just so when I shifted to 2nd, the engine would start 'bucking'. The new exhaust cured this, the motor is smooth and willing to pull past 5000 rpm.
I wonder if a 2 1/2" pipe might not be a better solution? I like the 2" though.
