Well I'd been running the 2 1/8" straight pipe (it had a high flow SS cat, but that's it) for a few months, ended up getting a ticket for "improper exhaust), and while I liked the simplicity and cost of not having a muffler the noise was getting a bit annoying, mostly on long trips. So I broke down, bought a glass pack, borrowed a friends welder and stuck it in line. When he lent me the welder it had some really crappy wire that kept jamming, so I had to run and get some better wire and it went smoothly after that. BUT, I had already taken my exhaust off, so I was running with just a down pipe for a day.... it was really loud inside the car b/c it ended about under the shifter. I took a vid of it like that, and then after I put the muffler in. I had meant to take a vid with the exhaust I had been running for the past few months, but forgot.
New exhaust vs stock exhaust:

Before:

After:

Its a TON quieter with the muffler, even though the vid makes it still sound sorta loud. I'm happy with it; I don't have to worry about cops any more and it should make longer drives more pleasant. This exhaust is too big for a B3, its OK for a PnP'd B6, but will be great for when I get a turbo on it. Total cost of the exhaust, header back, including muffler and cat, is still only around $100.
