Searched but didn't find any threads that had the info I was looking for.
I want to put a B6P DOHC head on a B3 block.
I'm aware of the Laser GTX that had it from the factory and I know DOHC style domed pistons with the proper 1.163" compresson height will need to be sourced. I will also be using the 1.6 crank and rods (for the larger rod journal diameter) so I'm not concerned about spinning it faster. (a quick check of piston catalogs seems that some motorcycle pistons could be used, although finding a bike piston in a 20mm wrist pin will be tough as most are in the 16-18mm range - I may end up using the B3 rods afterall to keep it on the cheap)
My question is the valve diameters and shrowding. The 78mm to 71mm bore drop is significant. I assume the 1.6 valves will hit the cylinder wall. Looks like a 2mm overbore to 73mm will be required at a minimum and possibly a slight clearance machined into the top of cylinder wall too.
Who's done it or at least thought about it?
Randy
