  • Fuel Injection Swap into an '88

I just bought an 88 L with 220K and the motor time is about up. I am wondering the complexities of swapping in the fuel injected motor from a newer Festiva. I am on a tight budget and need to get this thing on the road again. Please help! Thanks.

two routes you can take, it can either be easy or very complex.

    1. swap in the block, use the 88's intake and exhaust manifold. swap in the camshaft and fuel pump for the original motor. swap the pulleys on the alternator so you still have the choke heater stator plug. (easy way)

    2. replace the gas tank, wiring harness, fuel lines, ecu, and then swap in the fuel injected engine. drill holes to mount the radiator and air box.(complex way)
