I need a swap in my 88 Festiva. I need one ASAP!!! I'm tired of putting $80 in gas in my Suburban every week! I have an 88 Festiva carbed/5 speed. I have low compression in the #4 cylinder. What engine is a straight drop in replacement to what I have? Please... I need answers ASAP. Thanks in advance. Sorry... I searched and no specific answers I needed!

B6 Engine from 323 is a direct bolt on.

Is it a carbed engine?? What model and year Mazada is it out of???

I thought the 88's only had a 4 speed? Or was the transmission swapped at one time? Or am I just totally wrong?

The B6 are FI, but you can swap your intake and exhaust manifolds onto the block. Same with a FI B3. If you go B6 - you need the first style, from an 88-89 323.

Only the LX models had 5-speeds in 88-89 Festivas.

Thanks! Yes... I have an LX... is the tranny also a complete swap?? My 2nd. gear is grinding a lil.

any manual tranny from a festiva will bolt right up.

the tranny on any car with a b6 isn't going to be a direct swap.
