Ok got the spedo thing figured out but still need to know about the two wires where the shift lever goes into the trans.

trans out of a 95 Escort gt and both wires are green in color.

Enough of you have done a BP swap someone must know.

for the G-series, in your case G25MR, i'd say that its your neutral switch from what you are describing...
