Is it illegal to have a flaming exhaust? They sell these kits on eBay ... #400033252539 .

I especially like the warrior on the motorcycle.

This would definitely be cool on a Festiva.

It most likely is, I know it is here in South Carolina.

I do think it would be cool, but I don't think it is illegal in MN as long as you don't use it on the street, and you use it in parking lots/your home. Just like the neon lights that some people put under there cars. I think I'm right, but I could be wrong.

A friend of mine installed a boost controller on his WRX. He had a nice flaming exhaust without the use of a spark plug in the exhaust, etc...

It was pretty cool to watch!

Quite the contrary! I believe they would indeed think it is cool because they would then find all kinds of charges for tickets to whomever has it. LOL

haha, anyone ever see the jet cars/ trucks/ bikes? they took turbines out of heli's that were over hours and put em in cars. I think leno had one, and he was talking about doing just that....

As for the legality, it is probably legal for "off-road" use only. Just like fog lights on a roll-bar, pneumatics (airbags), tilt beds and all that fun stuff.

I think you're right; it must be something for "off-road" use only, considering those kits work off of a separate fuel supply. If you do any changes to the fuel system, such as relocating the tank, there is a good chance that it will change the crash dynamics of the car. I'm sure it would be fine, considering that there are a lot of people who use fuel cells for muscle cars, but I would check with your local laws first.
