  • 1.3 rebuild

I have an '88 LX. I plan on having the motor rebuilt. It will be bored .30 over, performance cam and header. How much horsepower am I looking at?

So, is it realistically worth putting the cam and headers in the mix? Will they actually help all that much?

considering you'd be looking at around $300 for an fms header and cam, it wouldn`t be worth it imo. you can put together a simple turbo setup for that money, that would yield around 100whp on the b3.

That sounds like a winner! Thank you.

Just cruised Ebay. They have turbos for $30 to $50. Is this what I'm needing?

look for something cheap and small. you can definatly find something for less than $100. a t25 is a good choice and easy to find parts for. ko3 off of a vw 1.8t would be fine also or a vj14 off of a 323 gt. basically any small turbo though. just keep an eye on ebay.

What needs to be done to the engine elctronic fuel injection to make something like that work?

his car should be carbed, so he would blow the boost right into the carb. it would be cool to find a weber carb adapter and run a weber carb for better jetting and plenty of fuel.

on an efi car, you could just run a fmu (12:1 maybe?) to push a little extra fuel through the stock injectors.

Could a SAFC-II be used with ease?

i don't know if a vaf vehicle can be hooked up to a safc......plus there are no so called speed sensors. I guess you could pick up tach signal from either the coil/cluster.

If it would work, that would be a easy way to tune. I have used it plenty on MAF vehicals.

                              What about a good old B6 from a 323?
They seem to pull real good.
Aspires and Sways all around, Miata B6 installed, KYB G2Rs just installed in front. Wish for coil overs someday.
