Those are only JDM engines as well, the 1.3 DOHC engines only came in the festiva GTX & GT-A's both of which are very rare even in Japan
-
whats up w/ that bj 1.3 motor are they available here in the states or even in canada and if not why the heck do we never get the cool stuff here

Hey we understand the first time at festiva, we were all there once. I personally like that year Supra also. The 99 3000GT Spyder I like too, but sadly I would have to sell all my cars in order to buy one, and then with all the other bills modifying to what I wanted would be costly. The BP is roughly 120 HP stock and I think it does mid 14s when set up correctly.

how many horses does a stock bp in a festiva get? and what is the quarter mile on that?..roughly?....i dont plan on racing mine on the track but i do wanna tear some of these loud hondas and acuras around here....reason i ask is cuz i wanna get an idea of how fast the festy will be.Originally posted by festivaWES View Post2JZ's are worthless...the supra is over-rated...way over-rated.
Best bang for the buck swap is a BP, If you have the knowledge to complete a SOHC swap then a DOHC with VICS is not going to be a problem either.

ok ty very much for ur time and patience....u are very knowledgable and i will be asking u many questions in the future(when i can get my hands on a festiva)...lol...i guess thats y my q's are so vague...cuz i dont have 1 yet and i know very little about them..i want a 98 supra but reality sets in and i will never afford that so my next best thing is the festy...hahahaOriginally posted by nonamekid View PostThe BP is not a stronger engine than the B6T, it just has more displacement, and as such, has a greater possibility for more power. If you have a FI festiva, I would suggest a BP swap for ease of wiring and the greater simplicity of the swap.
I believe, the BP and the B6T make the same amount of horsepower stock, but it will be easier to get more power out of the B6T than the BP. Depending on what you are going to be using the car for, depends on what motor is going to be best for you. If you are looking for a reliable daily driver, get a BP. Not that the B6T is going to be a problem, but that the B6T swap is more complicated and as such will provide more things to go wrong.
Give us some idea as to what you are aiming for and we can point you in the right direction as to what you need. Don't ask completely vague questions like you have asked so far in this thread because it will only rile up more knowledgeable members. Ask specific questions and people will be alot more willing to answer the questions. We want to help but vague questions are very hard to answer.

well i know the bp is a stronger engine..just didnt know if the turbo on the b6t gave it enough to pass the bp power wiseOriginally posted by MONSOON View PostIf you know ANYTHING about cars, you would know that a Turbo is going to increase HP. Is it possible for a B6T to have more HP than a N/A BP? Most definately.

i did overlook the bpt origins becuz i mistaken it for the escort gt...but it is available also from asia, oceania, south america and africa...and i did read ur sticky after the fact that i posted but b4 ur comment..although ur transmissions sticky is a very informative read...it didnt answer my question....so what is has more horse power the bp or b6t? i know the bp is a 1.8l and the b6t is a 1.6l...but does the turbo make it faster than the bp?Originally posted by nonamekid View PostApparently you didn't read to well. The BPT was not available in North America, and is not available in every junkyard. You would be lucky to find it any junkyard as they have to be imported from Japan.
If you had read the sticky on the transmissions you would not have called the G25MR an engine swap.

already did thanx....for any future people the answer is the b6 is easiest and the bpt is the most powerful according to readily available at any jy...but if u can get ur hands on the same engine jap version...they put out 20-40 more horses than the american counterpartOriginally posted by nonamekid View PostThese are 2 questions that have been asked multiple times.
