  • protege 93 tranny?

    hi everybody..i want to know if a protege bp01 tranny fit on b6t engine? whit the cardan,shifter kit and clutch kit because my festiva is automatic..

    The protege transmission will bolt to the B6T. You will need a shifter from a festiva and then it will have to be modified to work with the protege tranny. You can use either the B6T clutch kit or the protege clutch kit. You will need to find cv axles from an Mercury capri xr2 or from a mazda 323 GT. I am unsure what you mean by "cardan"

      cardan is drive axle...:p

      the gtx drive axle is not similar to the 323 gt axle?

        nope, they are different.
        Trees aren't kind to me...

        currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
        94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

          gtx those are too long?
          because I can shorten them to a welding chop...because new axle shaft is 660$ each...

              You will also need the intermediate axle shaft from the 323 GT. It is the one on the right side that bolts to the engine, that the cv shaft goes into.

                  OK guy I will answer to his question in french
                  1. CV shaft = cardan en français.
                  2. Les cardans ne sont pas très cher.
                  3. Le halfshaft lui il est crissement cher. J'avais été voir chez Mazda a Rouyn et c'était plus de 750$.

                    guys a BP01 is a SOHC his trans is an F-series transmission.

                    you will need an 80's tracer or 323 cv shafts and use the protege clutch kit AND flywheel for sure.

                      the f-serie halfshaft is not good for my swap? the halfshaft on my gtx is not similar to the gt halfshaft?

                        if your protege says SOHC on the valve cover then you have an F-series transmission. BP01 is the B8-ME, trust me I had one in my 95 aspire that I wrecked, along with an F-series transmission. It will work, you just need to use the unequal length shafts. You will have one long one and one short one like the stock festiva. You can buy the shafts from any parts store, and you will be ready to go. They can come from the following cars:

                        87-89 Mercury Tracer 5 speed
                        91-94 Mercury Capri (non turbo) 5 speed
                        87-89 mazda 323 (non turbo) 5 speed
                        89 Festiva L Carby 4 Speed... RIP. Evicted and Scrapped. I HATE MY FAMILY
