  • B3 tranny

So I'm thinking about trying to make this thing stronger. But I'm not sure on how to go about it.
Any Ideas on how to go about this?? (And please don't say just swap in a g series)

could a dog box be fitted?
How would I re-enforce the case?

My friend who raced Spec RX-7 for years used to get some of his parts cryogenically frozen. Brake rotors, tranny parts I believe. I know some people in the 4x4 area are doing the same thing.

Sort of sounds stupid, and I'm not sure how much bang for your buck you get, but it could be worth a shot.

G25MR is the way to go nothing you can do for the festivas tranny except get a better clutch or maybe get specially made parts for thousands.

Cryogenically treating metal parts is done in gun barrels and brake rotors as well. It is supposed to realign the metal structure or relieve stresses, IIRC.

Theoretically it could strengthen some transaxle parts, but it would probably be too expensive and I'm not sure if it works on cast parts and which transaxle parts might be cast, etc.

I've read here in the past that the Aspire transaxle may be a bit stronger (they'd be newer, anyway). Also, someone had mentioned welding more metal around the outside of the casing. (Not sure what that is supposed to do.)

If you want a stronger tranny to handle more hp, go to the Festiva auto transaxle or the larger F or G series manuals.

could i use the same clutch pressure plate and flywheel with an f or g series tranny?

cryo'ing has been a thought. also have thought about getting strate cut gears. and a phantom grip. how did wtfman re enforce his tranny case. did he ever post any pics??
