I'd like to install my MSD Ignition and coil to the car, but with doing so, I would like to advance my timing. What is everyone on here doing? I've always advanced my timing on my V8 trucks about 6 degrees over stock.

Sounds like we're talking about two different issues here: adjusting ignition timing and valve timing. The original question was about ignition timing. For sure you can do it, just use premium gas to avoid detonation. I'd recommend going up in 2-degree increments; when you hit detonation with premium gas, back off 2 degrees.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
