ok so here is the update ,,,,,,, I bought the festiva LCA's and it fixed my cv problem now ..... everything is out of allignment so im going to have to fab up some new mounts, but my problem is I start college tomorrow and I work at the same time so what im going to ask is ......can someone with a b8 swap with a f series trans make me some mounts and ill buy them ,,, I don't have a ride right now and I need this on the road ASAP. also I will be driving 60 min to school everyday.... any help is appreciated.

p.s. the reason I need new mounts is because the ones I made the first time set the engine crooked.

A crooked engine is OK, up to a point!
The CV's can compensate for some/all of that.
Yes, better if all is correct, but you can refab them one at a time, later.
And unless you, undid the tie rods your wheel alignment should be OK, if it was OK to begin with.
That said, I pay for a front/2 wheel alignment just to make sure your not destroying your tires.

right welll I got the cv problem fixed with the new lcr's but Im still getting the horrable vibration from the drivers side..... put the car back on jack stands shifted into gear and it was ok untill the drivers side tire begun to spin ..I removed the trans mounts and lowered the engine and spun the tire and no vibration so Im thinking that the mounts are wrong.-daniel

i doubt it's binding, because it's still spinning. make sure there's no play in the joints.

if you changed out the LCAs you MUST realign your car. shorter LCAs will caust the tires to toe in massively and ruin the tires VERY quickly.

He never had it aligned with the longer Aspire LCA's, and unless he adjusted the tie-rods he should be OK. But now that he has the proper hardware bolted in I'd recommend an alignment. But don't know it's necessary if the alignment was good to begin with.

                        Agree!
And take it for a test drive to see that you don't also need your tires balanced.
I think your vibration at 35 mph is tire/wheel related.
                        Just another thing to try.
Swap wheels with the driverside to see if its the wheel/tire currently in the driverside position or if it is indeed related the axles/mounts.

Take it easy till you know all the systems are good.
                        As this is your DD.
But don't forget completely about those mounts.
                        You just have some time.
You might even be able to shim the mounts you made, provided they are strong enough.
BTW, what school are you going to and do they have a machine shop?

okay so I re did the mounts and now no vibration but....... I Don't have any reverse I go to shift it to reverse and it acts like it wont "click" in ....... I dont know what could have caused this because reverse worked fine when the engine and trans was in the other car and in mine before i had to fix the mounts...... Should i just drive it and hope it starts working or is there something I can do to fix it. thanks in advance -Daniel

remember that reverse is a non-syncro gear and runs through 1st. i suggest that you stop the car, put it in first, and then go for reverse. putting hte trans in gear first stops the lay shaft from spinning and also aligns the gear teeth.

Is it possible his engine and tranny are so crooked, from the mounts, that it is interfering with the linkage?
But, then I'd have though that 2nd and 4th would have been affected as well.
Guess we will see if it just needed to pass through 1st before engaging reverse.
