  • quick b3 rebuild question

i am tering down my 91 b3 and going to rebuild it for my 88. it will be carbed motor but what im want to know is i was removeing the crank and this little clip fell out. i didnt see were it came from or what it may be could you guys help me out.
    hears what it is

Thats a thrust bearing. It goes next to the crank. Probably somewhere in the middle. Look for a machined surface on one of the crank counterweights.

um i have a few more questions now i was thinking bout it
ok i know that the motor has like 65 hp stock right i dont know the torque.
but i want to know if i bore it 20 over and get the compition cam and port the head (intake and exhaust) and get the webber carb for it. what do you think i should be making any body know or have an idea or know of a good set up for the carb motor i could do to make a little more power

TQ.=73 ft.lbs. on a stock motor. .020 over will increase your displacemant but not by much... If you port and cam it you could probably get around 80 hp. Just a guess tho.

The header will help, but the cat-back might actually hurt, due to having too large a pipe for a 1.3. I would add that cam and porting will not do much until you put on the header. Intake and exhaust mods are the foundation for any internal mods.

A B8 swap would be your best bet....It has 103h.p./113 ft.lbs. stock, and bolts right in with minimal mods. And it would be cheaper than a proper full rebuild. It will take $1000 plus to make a b3 put down 100 h.p.

1986 - 89 323s were all 1.6 L, EFI, and 82 HP (except the turboed 1988 - 89 GTX, still 1.6L but 132 HP). The GLC, sold here up to 1985, was carbed and had a 1.5L 68 HP motor.
