  • 1.3 DOHC(BJ) engine swap

I have just gotten this engine and it looks loke a pretty straight foward swap. I figured out that I cannot make the BJ specific ECA work(no wiring diagram and cant figure some of the wires to inst. cluster). I am going to use stock1990 B3 ECA and seperate solenoid to activate the Variable Inertia Charging System. Does anybody know if the B3 ECA will accuate the BJ fuel injectors(yellow color with 89 style connectors), or should I just use the '90 injectors(purple in color with rounded connectors). If anyone has a source for a BJ spec wiring diagram for the ECU- I am interested.
    Thanks, Michael.

How the hell did you get a BJ engine? very nice find indeed but i gotta see some pics

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I saw a guy in CA list it on ebay, and relisted it several times- with no response. I bought it from him off ebay, paid in payments... It came complete with eng, 5sp trans(different ratios?),harness, ECA,alt... He listed it as a JDM engine kit, so it probably came to USA by way of one of those importers. I wish I could post pictures of it.
        Thanks, Michael.

Your best bet to get it running properly is to swap over the wiring harness with the matching computer. I doubt you will be able to run the DOHC engine with the SOHC engine computer.

Yes that's correct, I was one who sold this 1.3L Dohc engine to Micheal.

Micheal, have you able make it work on your car yet?
